Benefits of blow molding plastic solutions
Blow Molding Plastic Solutions in the U.S.
Plastic blow molding is an inexpensive, yet quality solution for forming hollow plastic parts that can be used throughout various industries. The different types of blow molded parts vary, and the applications for blow molding plastic solutions are far-reaching. Custom blow molding can be used for toys, home goods, cups, bottles, containers, carrying cases, and more. Industries like pharmaceutical companies, food suppliers, medical companies, and holiday or seasonal goods manufacturers have long known of the benefits of using blow molded parts in the manufacturing of their products. At Robotic Automation Systems, we offer quality, affordable, and reliable blow molding solutions in the U.S., including blow molding automation and in-mold decorating automation. Benefits of Blow Molded Parts
One of the biggest advantages of custom blow molding in the U.S. is that it is relatively fast and capable of producing large quantities of a finished product. It is also generally very inexpensive when compared to other manufacturing methods, especially when cost is compared to production times. Custom blow molding is also a very versatile manufacturing process, and has revolutionized production quantities and manufacturing time for a number of different industries. Blow molded solutions are also highly automated, creating accurate results with little human intervention or chance of human error. For these reasons, companies can increase their production speed while saving money by creating parts faster with less human involvement.

Plastic Blow Molding Process
The plastic blow molding process in the U.S. can improve worker safety by simplifying certain repetitive tasks using automation and robotics. While your productivity and output increases, your production costs decrease. Here’s a look at our plastic blow molding process at Robotic Automation Systems:
- Loading process – Plastic pellets are fed into the blow molding machine using a Fanuc robot and flexible feeder. As the plastic melts, it gets shaped into a parison (basically a tube-like shape with a hole at one end). This parison is clamped into place inside the mold. We use compressed air to inflate the parison, and heated plastic balloons to fill the interior space of the mold and shape it appropriately.
- Facing station – Our servo-controlled vertical facing station can be manually or robotically loaded. The customer adjusts to final cut height using our human-machine interface.
- Cooling station – We then use either forced air, ambient air, or an AC unit to cool the parts so that they are stabilized before packaging. Our system will robotically load the finished products as they are exiting the blow machine.
